The Power of Touch

Massage gives us something that very few therapies or professionals have license to give: touch. Touch is the first sense we develop inside the womb and last to leave us. What happens when we are touched--or not--means so much during a lifetime. A sense of well-being and pain relief is just the beginning! Educate yourself about the expected (and not so expected!) benefits of receiving regular therapeutic massage.

Inner Body Yoga & the Teachings of Angela Farmer and Victor van Kooten

Yoga -- and particularly this style of yoga -- pairs beautifully with bodywork. The body "speaks" truthfully about the deeper experiences of life. The body is also a trusted friend and gateway to finding greater peace, balance, harmony and appreciation in ALL of life. It has been my experience that when I meet shadowy places inside with compassion and gentleness true healing begins.

Inner Body Yoga is both a tool and practice for going inside, listening, and finding your own personal and unique expereince of yoga. Create more space to listen, feel, receive and act. Foundational Well-Being is at the heart of my work

Mary GeitnerTaking care of myself -- slowing down, listening, and making time for whatever my body needs -- are integral peices of my well-being. When I'm feeling off kilter, I do my best to return to simple, tried and true practices which bring me back to center. What works? Many things-- and different things at different times.

Some of my go-to's are exercise, silence, receiving massage, cooking, yoga retreats, gardening, fiction, being in nature, a hot bath, laughing. Even cleaning -- sweeping, decluttering, folding -- sometimes offers the perfect antidote to frenzy and irritation.

What's in your well-being kit? Whatever your tools are, use them often and you shall live a life that runs on peace and harmony, not adrenaline and reactivty. "He who lives in harmony with himself lives in harmony with the world." – Marcus Aurelius
